Santa Bárbara Castle
The Castle of Santa Barbara, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain, stands on the top of the Benacantil mountain, guarding the entire bay of Alicante. Alicante City Hall
The Alicante City Hall building, also known as Alicante Municipal Palace, is a monumental construction built in baroque style in the eighteenth century that is located between the squares of the City Hall and the Santísima Faz, in the Santa Cruz neighborhood. It has a rectangular floor plan and its façade is composed of a three-story central body and two taller towers at the ends. The first floor has five doors, although the central one, larger than the rest, is the main entrance.
La Explanada de España
Parallel to the marina of Alicante, you will find a pedestrian avenue that is one of the most beloved epicenters and recreational spaces for the people of Alicante, the perfect place to stroll and enjoy a lunch or dinner with a peaceful after-dinner conversation, the Explanada de España (Esplanade of Spain). Beaches of Alicante
The province of Alicante has some of the best beaches on the Mediterranean coast, most of them with the Blue Flag and the SICTED quality label. Some of these beaches are precisely in the city of Alicante itself, highlighting the Postiguet beach and the beach of San Juan.
On the one hand, very close to the old town, at the foot of the Castle of Santa Barbara, the Postiguet beach can boast of being one of the best urban beaches in Spain. It is also the busiest of the beaches of Alicante, which does not detract from the fact that it is the ideal place for a dip between visits. On the other hand, with more than three kilometers of coastline, the beach of San Juan is one of the best on the Mediterranean coast.
